A treatment that, through your feet, connects to each part of your bodyBook a treatment
As one of the first treatments that I studied professionally, reflexology will always have a special place in my heart. When I initially signed up to the practitioner’s diplomas nearly 20 years ago, I actually had no intention of using this skill professionally; I just thought it would be a nice thing to do for friends and family. However once I had qualified, I realised that as much as I enjoyed working in public relations, the holistic world had called me in and very soon afterwards I moved to Asia and spent two years living in Thailand and India.
It can almost feel clique to say that reflexology is a nurturing and deeply relaxing treatment. Because it does so much more – it works on so many deep levels to peel away what doesn’t work in your life so that you create something new. It is based on the principle that reflexes in the feet and hands correspond with organs, glands and structures within the body. So when I apply pressure or essential oils to these points I can clear energetic blockages and tension being held. This means that your body can return to homeostasis (balance) as energy is moving more freely and issues that have been suppressed or stagnating are released.
There has been a huge amount of research detailing how reflexology supports with fertility and specific stress symptoms such as IBS, insomnia and migraines. From working with hundreds of feet – each pair unique – I know how well reflexology helps with all life situations. However you are feeling, reflexology will work with you to alleviate stress and anxiety whatever the cause may be.
